USG Rating System for Primary and Secondary Schools in Uganda | Uganda Schools Guide
How we archieve the School Rating Score
Welcome to the Uganda Schools Guide.
The Uganda Schools Guide is an impartial entity that has been established to provide the public with a convenient way to find schools by different attributes across the country.
All registered Ugandan primary and secondary schools are included on the directory.
Primary and Secondary schools appear with their enrollment and results details for the schools with UNEB center numbers.
Primary and secondary schools have a Uganda School Guide(USG) School Rating based on 100 points that are derived from different attributes connected to the school to help parents and guardians choose the best school for their children.
This rating is impartial and it is calculated once everyday automtically based on the formulae below without the involvement of the school or any other entity.
Schools are encouraged to update their records to match the true records on the group so as to get a conclusive School Rating.
For a school to get a rating, three fields are considered with a contribution as listed namely;-
- Result Scores(50%)
- Enrollment Scores(20%)
- School Categorization Scores(30%)
Result Score(50%)
The school performance over time greatly impacts what sort of students a school produces and it also contributes 50% to the finall score of the school rating.
If a school say got 100% of their students in division 1 in Primary or Secondary, they automatically get all the 50%. Basically, the degree we multiply with the base is 1 and hence we get the percentage of students that passed in division 1 and divide it by 100 then multiply by 50.
If the school has students who passed in Division 2, the degree changes to 0.8 and in Division 3, it changes to 0.65, in Division 4 it is 0.5
So if 30% of the students passed through Division 3, we get (30/100)*0.65*50 and get a score which we can add to the rest of the other divisions to get a final score.
In cases where, there are more than 1 year of results, we take the average score say for a particular school for the last 10 years and use that as our baseline for results.
